Why It Matters

Counterbalanced desks use cylinders in the legs to safely hold weight and prevent an uncontrolled drop of the load. When these cylinders are engaged by raising or lowering a desk, the valve allows the load pressure to work against the area inside the cylinder and slows the movement of the desk to give you control.

Why They're Different

Counterbalanced desks are:

- Power free
- Portable
- Easy to operate
- As fast as the person making the adjustments
- Very quiet compared to electric desks
