When your design isn’t standard, your hardware shouldn’t be either. Kesseböhmer Ergonomics USA works with industrial designers and specialty builders to bring effortless height adjustability to spaces that weren’t built with it in mind.
RVs, off-grid builds, and compact environments demand that every square foot pull double duty. Traditional height adjustment means cranks or motors, and both become a liability when you’re working without a reliable power source.
Pneumatic columns lift and lower without power, wiring, or effort. No control boxes, no battery drain, no wires running through moving parts.
We aren’t a catalog supplier. If you’re an industrial designer or specialty builder, we treat your project like a partnership from the first conversation.
You don’t need a finished engineering package to reach out. A load requirement, a rough sketch, or a CAD file all give us enough to start. The one thing we do need to know upfront is weight. Pneumatic systems rely on a precisely calibrated counterbalance, so the surface load and typical equipment weight determine the exact gas-spring pressure your column requires. Once we have that, our team in Grand Rapids handles the rest.
We supply finished columns ready for your own surface, or raw components for builders integrating our lift technology directly into a proprietary design. For ongoing commercial projects, we work through contract-grade supply agreements. For smaller runs, we can accommodate initial batches to get a project moving.
Where Pneumatics Make Sense
Power-free lifting isn’t just a workaround. It’s often the right call from the start.
Mobile clinical and industrial carts need to move between rooms without hunting for an outlet. Off-grid and RV builds can’t afford the battery drain or wiring complexity of a motorized system. High-traffic command centers running 24/7 can’t tolerate a motor failure. And in high-end residential or architectural work, visible cables and control boxes simply don’t belong.
If your environment makes a power cord inconvenient, pneumatics remove the problem entirely.
what makes us different
We source high-tolerance Swiss steel for our outer columns and pair it with German-engineered lift mechanisms.
We do not believe in massive, fully automated production runs where details get missed. Every pneumatic column is hand-assembled and bench-tested by our team in Grand Rapids, MI.
We are backed by the Kesseböhmer Ergonomics legacy and over 50 years of manufacturing experience.
Adding height adjustability shouldn't mean adding wires, control boxes, or batteries. By engineering our columns to run entirely on compressed gas, we give you absolute layout freedom without pulling a single amp.
The core difference is power and speed. While electric desks rely on motors and floor outlets, our desks use high-precision gas springs. This results in a desk that moves 5-8x faster (transitioning in under 3 seconds), operates in total silence, and requires zero electricity.
Not at all. Our pneumatic gas springs do the heavy lifting for you. Once the base is calibrated to the weight of your tabletop and equipment, the desk feels nearly weightless. You simply engage the handle, and guide the desk to your desired height.
Virtually none. Unlike electric desks that may require software resets, control box replacements, or gear lubrication, our pneumatic gas springs are self-contained, permanently lubricated, and hermetically sealed. It’s a set it and forget it solution designed for high-traffic commercial environments.
